FOR children, being active is one of the most important ways they can improve their health and well-being.

This is where 'Jump Rope for Heart' comes in.

Skipping is the perfect exercise that can give the body a thorough workout.

Just 10 minutes of non-stop skipping can provide the same benefits as 30 minutes of jogging.

And if you happen to pass either St John's Primary School or Euroa Primary School during a physical education lesson, this is what you will be seeing at this time of the year.

During each lesson the children, of all ages, will concentrate on learning a variety of skills either individually, in pairs or in a group.

The usual aim at the end of the term is for the school to hold a 'Jump-Off' day, so throughout this term we will keep you posted on the progress of the children.
