WANGARATTA Turf Club has made the difficult decision to abandon its Melbourne Cup Day races tomorrow.
Following almost 50mm of rain over the past week, along with more forecasted today and tomorrow, the track was last Friday deemed unsafe to race on, forcing the club to announce the cancellation of the meet.
