Paterson’s curse cast its spell over the Strathbogies

THOSE who either drive up the Hume Freeway or through the Strathbogie Ranges will notice large bright purple hue sprout up over the many hills of the region, including Euroa’s own Balmattum Hill.
But while it may look lovely and charming in this time of spring, it is actually the result of Paterson’s Curse - an invasive weed which sees degraded pasture and areas disturbed by fire.
Executive Officer of the Gecko CLaN Incorporated as Broken Catchment Landcare Network Kerri Robson said that landholders and local landcare groups have had a long history in battling the weed.
