• Police out in force over long weekend

    EUROA and Violet Town police targeted speed, fatigue, alcohol, drugs, dangerous driving practices and general safety, as part of Operation ARID over the long weekend.

    Euroa Sergeant Natalie Jubb said they targeted all roads and road related areas not just the major highways like the Hume.

    “The Strathbogie Shire has a lot of secondary and gravel roads and even though often the speed zones for these roads is 100kph, drivers cannot always safely navigate these road surfaces at the maximum speed allowed,” Sgt Jubb said.

    “We expect that drivers will drive to the conditions of the roads and we enforced the same.”
