• A fight for Euroa x-ray

    RESIDENTS of Euroa are no longer able to receive x-rays at their local medical centre, after the running of a mobile machine was cut off on July 2 last year.

    Despite the efforts of Euroa Medical Centre practice manager Jane Garrett said there has still been no traction on receiving a machine, with locals now travelling to Wangaratta, Shepparton and Benalla for treatment.

    The life span of the machine had come to an end and was unable to be reconditioned, with a new basic machine starting at $60,000 and a digital machine at $120,000.

    “I have rang around to a heap of different imaging groups to see if anyone would sponsor but no one see’s it (Euroa) as a big enough town,” Ms Garrett said.
