ACCESS to popular sporting precincts in Euroa is about to get a whole lot easier, with the announcement of a $200,000 investment.
Community facilities including the Seven Creeks, Memorial Reserve and Friendlies Oval will all become connected via a new pedestrian bridge, with an old log the current access point.
Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria), visited Euroa last Wednesday to make the announcement, which has matched the $200,000 set aside in budget by the Strathbogie Shire Council to complete the project.
Discussions were held with local sporting club members and residents, which was then approved by Treasurer Tim Pallas under the Community Support Fund.
The Community Support Fund allows for range of projects and programs that are focused on the advancement of the community.
Ms Symes said local community members had been talking to her about it since the beginning of her four years in Parliament.
“This isn’t an election commitment, this is money in the bank we really wanted to deliver for this community while we had the opportunity to do so,” Ms Symes said.
