IN NEED OF REVITALISING: The shire’s pools, including Violet Town, have enjoyed an uptick in attendance, however remain in need of significant investment to rejuvenate the ageing assets.

THE Draft Community Pools Strategy was released by contractors Otium last week, outlining both the health of the Shire of Strathbogie’s four public pools as well as ways in which they can be improved.

The report is available until June 22 for public viewing, and the shire council is encouraging people to take the time to read through the 117-page document, and to offer their feedback.

The draft report calls for significant investment in the shire’s pools, with all bar Nagambie set to receive multi-million dollar upgrades under the three-stage plan.

The plan is designed to rejuvenate and refresh the ‘tired’ assets, which Otium say will help re-shape public opinion of the pools.

Members of the Pools Working Group have welcomed the release of the report, and are now eager to see those recommendations put into action.

Tiffany Ellis is one of those PWG representatives who are calling on the shire to not hesitate in making the investment in the pools and setting aside funding now.
