Euroa could soon have a new visitor information centre (VIC), after the project was given preliminary approval by council at Tuesday’s meeting.
The new VIC as now been added to the 2018/19 Council Budget, and if approved, will be attached to the council offices on Bury Street.
The design of the building includes a diagonal entrance, which will face both Bury Street and the Traveller’s Rest alongside the park. This design, it is hoped, will attract those travellers stopping at the nearby Seven Creeks Park.
Currently, visitor information is offered at ‘The Hub’ in Binney Street.
The Hub is staffed by volunteers, and is a cooperation between Euroa Health and the shire.
It operates as both a VIC and as a de facto drop-in centre for people in the community to come in for a chat with those volunteers.
