Tigers prove too hard to tame for Magpies

STRONG LEADERSHIP: JD Hayes set a great example with consistent play throughout Euroa’s senior final against Rochester but his team has come to an end for 2017.

EUROA’S senior XVIII season came to an abrupt halt on the weekend at the hands of a red-hot Rochester outfit whose form over the latter part of the season continued as they ran away seven goal victors in Benalla on Sunday.

Coach JD Hayes lamented his side’s end to the season with the maturity he has displayed right throughout his first season at the helm.

His form, personally, has been exceptional throughout and was no different on Sunday as he tried in vain to lift his team.

This leadership was certainly complimented by the efforts of Matthew Ivill, Will McFarlane and Adam Tarrant.

The determination to put their bodies on the line, time and again, meant the Euroa team were able to be competitive right throughout the match, despite the Tigers getting on top in the second half.

Nathan Gilliland was the main target up forward for the Magpies, slotting two early match goals.
