Recruitment begins for new forest firefighters

FOREST Fire Management Victoria has begun recruiting Project Firefighters and new permanent forest and fire operations officers across the state to help keep people safe this fire season.

Hume Acting Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Shaun Lawlor said: “Advertising commenced this week for project firefighters and 15 permanent forest and fire operations officers in the Hume region.”

“These forest firefighters are an important addition to our resources as we prepare for the upcoming fire season,” Mr Lawlor said.
