Skeletons, witches, ghouls, princesses and even dinosaurs descended on Cowslip Street in Violet Town for the “Nightmare on Cowslip Street” Halloween Festival.
The festival was organised by the Violet Town Business Group, an informal association of local businesses and volunteer groups formed a couple of months ago which already has more than 60 members.
Recognising there was not much entertainment for kids or teenagers in the area, they wanted to do something fun to bring families together, welcome new residents, and have people meet the local businesses and volunteer groups.
With a Quick Response Grant from the Shire of Strathbogie and some extra funding from the Violet Town Action Group, the business group, with Community House, pulled together all sections of the Violet Town community and organised the event.
