A DETERMINED Violet Town greeted Nagambie on Saturday as they looked to hold onto sixth place and secure a finals appearance with a win over the top ranked team.
Violet Town started as such, keeping Nagambie honest and looking as if they were going to lead at quarter time at several stages.
Despite being a point down, it seemed that Violet Town had won the quarter and shown that they would be no walkover.
The lead changed several times during the second term.
Anthony Haysom and Harley Taylor Lloyd appeared to be the difference as the latter slotted two majors that gave Nagambie back the lead each time.
Coming off the bye, Nagambie were sluggish early before finding their composure in the second.
