THE Euroa Health board has received the first instalment from the Commonwealth Government funds for the development of the new 75 bed aged care facility.

The $1.1 million in funds to commence the project is part of the overall $11,620,000 committed by the government for the Euroa Health development.

The board announced that the tender documentation had been completed and issued to selected builders on Monday, with tenders closing on Friday, July 17.

“Our project advisory group has selected four builders from those who put in expressions of interest, to tender for the project,” said acting chief executive officer Ormond Pearson.

“Within the tender documentation there have been clauses included to encourage tenderers to use local sub-contractors where appropriate.”

The board chair and directors are pleased the project is under way and expect it to be completed by December 2016.
