THERE is a strong revolution currently happening in the realm of recycling.

This is being driven by the State Government and the Strathbogie Shire is playing an important role by introducing the three bin kerbside collection service.

From an environmental perspective, the new three bin service is a productive decision.

It is achievable that the Strathbogie Shire can reduce waste to landfill by 50 per cent in mass and 70 per cent by volume.

We need to remember that use of landfill is now increasingly expensive and unsustainable.

Landfill, in the past, was where we ‘bury and forget’.
